I watched city of angels couple of days ago. Yeaaah i know It's kind of too late but anyway... i love this film! It's like eating a cheeze cake with a little rhum inside with rapsberry topping and it melt on your mouth slow and easy, and the taste has filled all the corner of your mouth and left nothing but the yummy face on you, but suddenly your little brat brother came in and hit your cake till it's falling apart on the floor. Damn!.
City of angels is a sweet film but stingingly painful. Even the story are fantasy but it's a fairytale i could believe in. Seth and Meg is just a two person who are in love, despite they're came from different species. Meg Ryan is as Dr. Maggie Rice, a heartfelt doctor who has lost her patient and kept blaming her self for his death. Seth, a messenger, felt curious about meg, but then he's in love with her, a love that makes him willing to sacrifice his eternity. Fall from the sacrosanct world to the sinfull dimension. I love every scene on this film. From the way seth met with meg and how he's in love with her. It's beautiful. I love when seth ask her the taste of pear, and he look at meg with curious eyes and a face of anadorned child. Oh i love Nicholas cage sooo much! He's the perfect figure for seth. Tall, big, charming and there's a big thing on his eyes. And Meg Ryan...who's not in love with her? With perfect smile, cute curly hair and a stunning acting, she's a total sweet babeactrees. As her character on previous film like You've got mail, Kate & Leopold, and When Harry Met Sally, Meg has the power to make the ordinary became superb.
I remember one scene when Seth and Meg sit on the riverside and he said "I always asked the dying what they liked best about living. Wrote it down in my book. This is it. This is what I like best.". Huaaaaa! What i called stingingly painfull is not too long after this heartbreaking scene, meg hitting a truck. Oh one more thing! Don't you think it's creepy to see all those angels gathered on a beach to listen to god music?
